Description:
Toolern, located within the Urban Growth Boundary, is set to become the largest urban growth area in the State of Victoria. As well as being home to more than 50,000 new residents there are also plans for a new major Activity Centre and 760 hectares of employment land creating more than 30,000 new jobs.
Location:
Toolern is located south east of Melton township and less than 35 minutes from Melbourne's CBD via the Western Freeway. It is also within 20 minutes of Victoria's key transport infrastructure facilities including Melbourne International Airport, Geelong ports and national freight routes.
Transport Links:
Toolern is ideally located adjacent to the Western Freeway and on a rail line which will be serviced by a new railway station. The Deer Park By-Pass allows for freeway access from Toolern to anywhere in Melbourne including Melbourne Airport and key freight hubs.

A Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) for Toolern has been finalised and the Growth Areas Authority is working in partnership with Melton Shire to ensure timely rezoning of land so that development can occur as soon as possible in line with the PSP.
